INTRODUCTION AND DESCRIPTION
Moisture content of grain and feed ingredients impact grain processing and feed manufacturing more than any other single variable. It has a major effect on production costs and finished product quality. Until the patented Grain Prep Auto Delivery System was developed, there was little a processor could do but be controlled by moisture.
The Grain Prep Auto Delivery System can precisely control grain and ingredient moisture content within ±0.5% of the specified target. The continuous flow design monitors and controls moisture content of freely flowing grain. The batch version monitors and controls feed ingredient moisture content in a mixer prior to pelleting or extruding.
At the heart of the Grain Prep Auto Delivery System are two patented moisture sensors; the FT-11 On-line Moisture Sensor2 in the continuous flow design and FP-21C Flush-mounted On-line Moisture Sensor3 in the batch version. With proper calibration, these two sensors provide continuous monitoring of grain or ingredient moisture content and temperature with an accuracy equal to that of standard laboratory methods.
